Participation and Application

Participation by students in the excavations at Ephesos is in principle possible; certificates of practical participation for a wide variety of areas of study (archaeology, architectural history, restoration and conservation) can be issued.

Requirements for participation are an above-average student record as well as relevant experience in the area of study of the internship. Please submit an application with curriculum vitae in tabular form, transcripts of grades, and at least one letter of reference to ephesos@oeai.at. Basic knowledge of German and Turkish is not absolutely necessary, but is however desirable.

The excavations at Ephesos take place annually from May to October. Please be aware that, due to the requirements for application for the necessary permissions, November 30th is the deadline for the receipt of applications for the following year’s excavation campaign.
